As you are enjoying your summer, work continues at Ausblick. This is the time when repairs, maintenance and improvements are made. One improvement you will notice is our chairlift will be freshly painted. Another is the handle tow will be operational in our new beginner area.

After serving 12 years on the Ausblick Board, the first 2 as Treasurer and the last 10 as President, I have decided not to seek another 3 year term. Thus, I will be stepping off the Board at the end of the annual meeting of the members, on August 10, 2011. I also served as Treasurer on the Ausblick Ski Race Team Board for 8 years. I am leaving the Ausblick Board for the same reason I left the Race Team Board, to give other members a chance to volunteer to serve their Club.

There have been many improvements to the Club over the 12 years I have been on the Ausblick Board. It has been an honor to serve the Ausblick members. Also, it has been my pleasure to work with all the other directors, management and staff over those years. I owe great thanks to all the directors who have volunteered their time and talents to insure our goal of preserving the future of the Ausblick Ski Club. I am very grateful to Dennis Evinrude and his managers and staff for providing excellent conditions and excellent service for the Ausblick members and guests. As members, we sometimes take for granted that when we get to the hill, the snow will be groomed with great conditions, the chalet will be open and clean, the office will be ready to assist us and the lift will be staffed and running until the hill closes. This doesn't happen automatically. It takes the hard work and dedication of Dennis, his managers and the entire staff.

In closing I would like to say that although we have been members for 23 years, we are not leaving Ausblick. We plan on staying Ausblick members and using and enjoying our Ausblick Ski Club for many more years.

Respectfully,

Rick Ludwig

Managers Message

 by Dennis Evinrude, General Manager

Greetings everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your spring/summer so far (both days). At Ausblick we are busy preparing for significant off season maintenance. As Rick mentioned you can expect a freshly painted chairlift to greet you next season. Underneath that paint will be a number of maintenance upgrades not the least of which will be new bearings on both main bullwheels. This is extensive work that requires a crane to remove those bullwheels. You should be able to catch us on the web cam as we perform this work. We do not have a start date yet but I will do my best to alert you when we commence this project. As previously mentioned we will also finish the installation of our handle tow over on the training area. The handle tow may very well be a versatile part of our future plans for development as It can eventually be moved to a different location and operated up to 800 ft. in length should we desire to do so.

In closing I wish to thank Rick Ludwig for his willingness to dedicate so many years of service to the future of Ausblick. Because of his leadership as well as other Presidents before, we are now enjoying the company of Grandchildren of our founding members. No one has served longer that Rick. The new Maintenance building has been dedicated to Rick and it is my wish that in the future his Grandchildren become members here so that they may love Ausblick just as he, Barb, Niki, and Kristi have. Thanks Rick!!!

Respectfully Yours,

Dennis

 Jim PTreasurers Report

DUES REMAIN THE SAME for 2011/2012 season !!!

I am pleased to report that we have balanced our budget for the coming year that will leave the Dues for ALL members at their CURRENT LEVEL. This means our dues have only increased by a "total" of 10% over a 3 year period. In light of our efforts to offer numerous physical improvements, this is a very positive announcement.  I do not think I have to explain how increasing Utility and Fuel prices can effect an operation like ours. We will continue to manage our funds as efficiently as we can and keep updating the facilities to assure you are able to enjoy Ausblick to it's fullest for many years to come.

Dues Invoices have been mailed and you should all have yours by now. We have had a GREAT response with renewals already. If you have not already mailed your payment, please do so soon. We must receive your payment by the Due Date to keep you on the current member listing. If you have any questions, feel free to contact;

VIVIAN CLARK - vivclark@wi.rr.com  or 262-781-7506

Have a great summer and we hope to see you at our Annual Meeting on Wednesday August 10th - watch for an announcement soon.

While we are in our "summer mode", things are happening in our Ausblick "family". We have removed some pictures from last season. If any of you have "summer" activities to share, send them to me and I will consider having them posted.

I have asked members who have (front page) "For Sale/Wanted" listingss if theirs are still up to date, making changes accordingly. Should you have something ski/snowboard related, send them to me.

And, because I am the self-appointed historian, I have some activity to add/edit. Look it over and ask about whatever interests you or something you may know that we should add.

Our website is not just mine or the board's. It is for you, our members, to inform, educate and, maybe, entertain. Give me your thoughts or ideas.
