It's been an interesting year for non-profit fundraising and we are proud to say that this community knows how to put its money where its, er, snout is. Our annual Kiss n' Squeal event raised more than $110,000! Bucky Moser raked in $35,000 and puckered up with a precious pig. Welcome to our first E-Newsletter!
The start of the school year always brings an air of excitement and fresh possibilities. And that's certainly true for YouthZone! We're excited to share our E-Newsletter with you, where you can learn about YouthZone programs, how to make referrals, and how to get involved in volunteerism and fundraising. In each newsletter you'll find tips and tidbits about raising healthy kids, trends that affect troubled youth and facts about kids in court.
We'll help you navigate the tough stuff, provide advice and affirmations, and help you breathe a litle easier. Thanks for reading! |

School-Based Programs  When local schools partner with YouthZone to help kids, great things can happen. That's why we've introduced School-Based Programs for kids and families, a community collaboration sponsored by the Aspen Community Foundation. When school staff members have concerns like truancy, depression, fighting, and substances, YouthZone staff members can meet with students on-site to administer our youth and family assessment, offer one-on-one coaching, make recommendations for discussion groups, or faciliate Restorative Justice.
All student referrals will receive the YouthZone Assessment (a $180 value) and one of our programs tailored for individual needs. Conact Evan Z at YouthZone for more information on school-based programs. Thanks to a grant from Aspen Community Foundation, families pay a minimal fee and receive maximum results. And schools can continue to do what they do best: encourage, support and educate! |

Parent Talk 
Let's face it, we all have questions when it comes to raising kids. "Did I handle that ok?" "When should I intervene?" "Why does he do that?!" At YouthZone, our Parent Consults offer the perfect place for you to ask your questions. And, yes, we have answers but we're also here to listen, because we know that the best answers are often yours. In these 50 minute sessions, YZ staff will help you uncover your family's own secrets of success and develop an action plan, including resources and recommendations. We've also made it affordable for you to get the help you need. Just $35 gets you in the door and on your way. Parenting just got a little bit easier.
