    Muskogee Summer Food Program Provides Nutritious Meals for Children


Muskogee County Community Action Foundation is providing nutritious meals to local school children, without charge, through the Summer Food Service Program. The agency also offers the Senior Nutrition Program and Meals on Wheels.

Executive Director Jeff Schuman uses a non-traditional, entrepreneurial approach to raise funds to help support Deep Fork Community Action Foundation programs. He writes and produces murder mystery dinner theatre plays and uses staff and community residents as cast members.

Provides Safe Haven for Abused Families


Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group is providing support and assistance for victims of domestic and sexual abuse at a 7-day,  24-hour shelter in Altus. ACMI House provides a safe alternative  where victims can feel supported while making important decisions about their future.

Tips provided in a Great Plains Improvement Foundation day-long home buyers workshop enabled an employee to purchase a home. Information provided during the workshop covers all areas of owning a home from buying it to maintaining it.

Delta Observes Community Action Month with Open House at New Early Head Start Center


Delta Community Action Foundation held an open house at its new Early Head Start Center in Purcell as part of its Community Action Month observance. The center serves 16 children in two classrooms. It was constructed with American Recovery & Reinvestment Act funds.
