Self-Sufficiency Standard Details Basic Living Costs
A new Self-Sufficency Standard for Oklahoma 2009 charts the actual cost of living and working in each of Oklahoma's 77 counties. It documents how much eight different family types must earn to pay for housing, food, child care, health care, transportation, taxes and other basic necessities without public assistance or help from family and friends.
Graffiti Removal Program Is Revitalization Effort
Graffiti on more than 126,000 square feet of fence, walls, sidewalks, vehicles, and other locations was painted over or cleaned by the Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma/Canadian County recently as part of its community revitalization efforts.
State Lawmakers Help Weatherize Home
Community Action Development Corporation recruited State Senator Tom Ivester, and State Representatives Don Armes, Cory Holland and Todd Russ to help improve the energy efficiency of a home in Frederick on National Weatherization Day.     
Garden Is Educational Tool for Enid Children
Young children in Enid will have the opportunity to experience nature and learn about gardening thanks to a partnership between Community Action Development Corportation/Smart Start Northwest and Lowes Home Improvement Center.     
Bellmon Scholarship Applications Being Accepted
Oklahoma State University is accepting applications for the Bellmon Community Action Scholarship Fund until Feb. 1, 2010. The scholarship will be up to $2,000 per academic year.
