AOAPA Updates

Dear Parents,

It
is time to start thinking about the end of school because it is almost here. Before that happens though, there are more activities then you can imagine. Just take a look:

  • This week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation week. The AOAPA has been busy making sure all staff at AOA know how much all AOA parents appreciate them. Monday they got muffins and Tuesday they received an AOA tumbler. They will get more surprises on Thursday and Friday. Part of the money the AOAPA raises goes to fund activities such as this. A special thank you to parents Sonja Marusic and Christie Parker for heading the Hospitality Committee this year.

  • A lecture, sponsored by the Cleveland Council of Independent Schools Parent Resource Group, that will be held here at AOA on May 16th. See details below.

  • On May 21st, the first AOAPA sponsored lecture on Perfectionism in Student Athletes. Child care will be provided for AOA families. It is open to the public so please share this information with your friends. See details below.

  • The online Art Auction is back and better than ever. Make a bid. Wait until you see the mocha picnic table that Christine Papageorge (2nd grade teacher) and Michelle Huck (3rd grade teacher) are helping the students produce. It will truly be an amazing piece.

  • The last AOAPA meeting of the year will follow the parent lecture on May 21st. This is a date change from the original date of May 15th. On the 21st we will elect next year's board and share some of next year's plans. It will be a great time to share any thoughts you might have on activities or projects for funding. Please stay for a few minutes after the lecture to welcome the next board.

Have a great rest of the year as it races by. It has been a great two years for the current board. We have been honored to serve and are so appreciative of all the parents who have run events, helped in the classroom and done thousands of other things.

Hope to see you on May 21st.

Respectfully,

Sharon Graper
