Upcoming Fine Arts Performances

Here are two upcoming performances you won't want to miss!

Choral Pops Concert on February 28th

At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February the 28th, both the Middle and Upper School Choirs will present a concert of popular music. You won't want to miss this fun concert which features a wide variety of numbers ranging from "Tuxedo Junction" to Green Day's "21 Guns". The AOA Singers would love to have you in the audience for this short and very enjoyable concert.

Upper School One Act Plays

On March 2nd and 3rd, the Thespians of AOA will present their spring plays. The evening of theatre begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature three offerings:

"Flowers for Algernon" - a short one-act about a mentally limited young man whose intelligence is surgically improved.

"This Is a Test" - a hilarious one-act about a student who procrastinated in her studying just a bit too long...

"Bull In A China Shop"

When a houseful of sweet little old ladies discover that a handsome bachelor lives across the street, they are delighted. When they learn that he is none other than Homicide Detective Dennis O'Finn, they are faced with the problem of how to attract his attention. The answer is simplicity itself: a nice, genteel homicide with a cup of tea as the murder weapon. When a brash young woman reporter begins to suspect the truth, she becomes the next target. O'Finn is terribly embarrassed when at last he discovers that he himself is the motive for these madcap goings-on, and, in desperation, manages to solve the case. But the dear old ladies are too fond of him and in the end they turn the tables on him!

Please join us for this evening of fun. Tickets are $3.00 for Students/Seniors and $5.00 for Adults (available at the door). Age appropriate for Middle and High School students.

R.O.A.D. Down Home Dinner

fried chicken
The Upper School student club, R.O.A.D. (Respecters of All Diversities), will host their annual Down Home Dinner on Saturday, March 3rd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m before the Upper School play - One Acts. The cost of admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. Admission is cash only and we ask that you please pay when you arrive in the dining room.

This dinner features many dishes often categorized under the Soul Food heading; homemade macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, catfish, ribs, greens, cornbread, sweet potato pie and much more. Food service begins at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until 7:00 p.m., but attendees should plan to arrive by 6:30 p.m.

This year, we would like to thank the Tompkins family for helping put on the dinner. If other members of the AOA community would like to lend a hand preparing the food, please contact Mr. DiBianca at gdibianca@andrewsosborne.org.  He
can also assist with any questions or other inquiries.

We look forward to sharing this experience with the AOA community. All proceeds from the dinner will go towards future diversity projects sponsored by R.O.A.D., which strives to study and oppose prejudice against people of all diversities and to promote matters of equity and justice both inside and outside our school community.
