A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

The holiday season is here and last night our Middle School Band, Middle School Choir, and Upper School Choirs more than put us in the spirit. As a small school, we are very big in talent. Mrs. Clark and Mr. Dorr bring the best out in our students. If you were able to attend last night's program, we thank you for being there to support the students. Next week, students in the Lower School grades K-5 will present their holiday program on Thursday, December 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

The School Directory is available on the school's website; www.andrewsosborne.org. To access the secure site, go to the AOA Community Login tab on the Home Page and enter your login information. If you have questions regarding login information, please contact Ellen Beers, Marketing Assistant, at ebeers@andrewsosborne.org or by calling 440-942-3600, ext 240.

Thanks to the AOA Parents Association and the Athletic Boosters, a Phoenix mascot costume is being produced and will be ready for the end of the basketball season and Spirit Week in March. Finding a Phoenix mascot has been difficult, so we are having one made. I have been approached by a few students, and an enthusiastic parent from the Lower School, who would like to try out to be the first live mascot for the school. The Athletic Boosters Club is also making it possible for a large size Phoenix logo to be placed on one of the walls in our gym. We are very thankful for the support that our Parents Association and Booster clubs give to the school, not only in providing resources but also being present to help out with a number of programs and events.

It's that time of year when students, especially in the Middle and Upper School begin to ask me, "Are we going to have a snow day tomorrow?". So far we have been very fortunate and I hope it stays this way, except for a nice cover on the ground for Christmas. I know the skiers don't feel the same way I do, however. When school is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, all local TV stations will carry the message. If you signed up online to receive a phone call or text, you will be notified in this manner. If you have not signed up to receive a phone call or text, you still have time by clicking HERE.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

2011-2012 Annual Giving Campaign

The 2011-2012 Annual Giving Campaign is well underway! If you didn't receive a call from one of our parent volunteer callers, we're sorry we missed you! With only a few weeks before the end of the calendar year, it's the perfect time to take advantage of those tax deductions while supporting the Annual Giving Campaign.

One gift can truly make a difference. Just as one faulty member, one coach or one parent can alter the course of a student's life; your one gift can significantly impact the school. Your gift can help us acquire additional donations from funders that require a high participation rate from our own AOA family. Our goal is to have 100% of parents, faculty, staff and alumni participate. Give at your comfort level - no gift is too small.

Make your gift online at www.andrewsosborne.org under "Giving to AOA" or if you prefer you can mail a check (dated no later than 12/31/11) to Sue Leahey, Director of Development.  She can be reached at sleahey@andrewsosborne.org or at 440-942-3600 ext. 235.

If you would like to act as a fundraising captain for your grade and issue a challenge to other grades, please contact Sue Leahey to learn more about the special incentives for team captains.  Thank you in advance for your support of AOA and its mission!
