A Message From Our Head of School
Dear Parents,
Last Saturday evening, my wife and I attended AOA's performance of "Beauty and the Beast". What an outstanding performance! Over fifty of our Middle and Upper School students participated in the production. Emily Zart and Doug Lee played the lead roles as Beauty and the Beast. Both have performed in previous AOA productions and both were invited to sing in the All-National Honors Choir this past summer in Washington, D.C.
Other important roles were performed by P.J. Magerko, Lilly Chalfant, Xavier Martinez, Jamila Carter, Acoma Gaither, Estefania Mangue, Brooke Bucary, Anastasia Urozhaeva, Morgan Adler, Allee Vito, Sam Jackson, and Samantha Sirl. I also would like to recognize senior Tyla Rowen, stage manager. Tyla has been involved in all of the plays and musicals since 6th grade and plans to major in Stage Managing at college. Students that played minor roles or worked behind the scenes also deserve a big thank you. Special recognition goes to Drs. Dave and Janie Zart for their time in working on the sets and to Andrew Clark. Andrew is the husband of Karen Clark, drama and choral director. Finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Karen Clark. Karen puts her heart and soul into every performance to make sure the students are at their best. Based on comments I have heard from faculty, parents, and guests, this was one of the best high school performances they have seen. Thank you students, for giving us a wonderful production we won't soon forget.
Thanksgiving break begins next Wednesday, November 23th. Many of our parents are hosting boarding students over the break. Thank you for opening your homes. Our Director of Residential Life, Ben Irie, spends a great deal of time arranging host families for our students and I know he also appreciates your hospitality. With winter break not too far off, he will be looking for host families for boarding students who are not going home during the long break. If you are interested in hosting a boarding student during the winter break, please contact Ben at 440-942-3600, ext. 217. There is a stipend for hosting a student.
Have a great weekend and week ahead. Best wishes for a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Chuck Roman

Annual AOA Thanksgiving Food Drive - Reminder |
As a reminder, the annual AOA Thanksgiving Food Drive is accepting donations through this Monday, November 21st. The drive, coordinated by Student Council, involves the entire campus. Lower School students and families can drop off donations in the Lower School office, while Middle and Upper School students can drop off their donations in advisors classrooms.
The Upper and Middle School food donations will be given to the Forbes House, which is a shelter for abused women located in Lake County. Lower School, working in conjunction with the AOA Girls Scouts troops, will give food donations to the Cleveland Food Bank. Every year we contribute many Thanksgiving dinners to those in need! If you have questions, please contact Kathie Hines at khines@andrewsosborne.org for Middle and Upper School and Denise Hunt at dhunt@andrewsosborne.org for Lower School. |

Absence and Tardy Procedures

It's that time of year again when we notice an increase in absences due to illnesses and also extended family vacations. As a reminder to all parents, please call the school (440-942-3600) by 9:00 a.m. if your child will be absent or tardy. Lower School parents should contact Kathy Marvar at extension 110; Middle and Upper School parents should contact Jane Piszczor at extension 117. In the event that a student arrives late to school, he/she must provide the office with a written note from home.
All Middle and Upper School students should sign in/out with Jane Piszczor in the Lee Building.
