Annual AOA Thanksgiving Food Drive

The annual AOA Thanksgiving Food Drive is coordinated by Student Council and involves the entire campus. Upper, Middle, and Lower School students have the opportunity to bring in food donations till Monday, November 21st.

The Upper and Middle School food donations will be given to the Forbes House, which is a shelter for battered woman located in Lake County. Lower School, working in conjunction with the AOA Girls Scouts troops, will give food donations to the Cleveland Food Bank. Every year we contribute many Thanksgiving dinners to those in need!

If you have questions, please contact Kathie Hines at khines@andrewsosborne.org for Middle and Upper School and Denise Hunt at dhunt@andrewsosborne.org for Lower School.

Students may dress up for their picture - no jeans or t-shirts. No money is needed, and your proof will be sent to you in a couple of weeks.

Mobile Text Alerts

As a reminder from last week, AOA has secured a new product that will allow us to send mobile text alerts for various activities, events, school closures, etc. Parent cell phone numbers were preloaded and tested via the AOA School Closing Alert system. If your cell phone number was preloaded, you would have received a text alert last Thursday, October 27th.

The phone numbers that have been preloaded will receive a text alert
when the school is closed due to inclement weather. Those who choose to opt out may do so. Those parents who are not preloaded may go to the web address listed below to sign up for the service.

We will also have several other mobile alert groupings. One is for announcements and reminders about school events such as parent conferences, concerts, activities, etc. You must sign up separately to receive these alerts. We respect "communication overload" and do not want our constituents to feel they are receiving too many text messages. They may opt into the service below.

Beauty and the Beast Performances

The AOA Upper School presents its fall musical, Disney's "Beauty and the Beast".  This musical, based on the Academy-Award winning animated movie, features the wonderful music score written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

Showtimes are Friday and Saturday, November 11th and 12th at 7:30 p.m.  A matinee performance will be held on Sunday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m.  After Sunday's matinee, the cast will be happy to pose for pictures with our young audience members.

Tickets for the production are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.  Tickets will be available at the door.  Pre-sale tickets are available by emailing Jordan Jones at Jordan.AOA@gmail.com.

The play is set in the heart of a lovely provincial French town. Belle's father, Maurice, becomes lost in the woods and seeks shelter in an old castle. However, the master of the castle is a terrifying beast who takes Maurice captive. Belle travels to the castle and offers to stay with the beast in exchange for her father's freedom.

Belle's taming of the enchanted Beast and his ultimate transformation into a handsome prince has enthralled Broadway audiences for over 14 years.

Junior Emily Zart plays the role of the sweet and kind-hearted Belle. Senior Doug Lee, will capture your heart in the role of the soul-tortured Beast. The show will also feature the comical talents of P.J. Magerko, Acoma Gaither, Estefania Mangue, Brooke Bucary and Morgan Adler in the roles of Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip and the Wardrobe. Kalvin Ye plays the role of Maurice. Xavier Martinez plays the role of Gaston with Jamila Carter playing his sidekick, Lefou. Fifty AOA Upper School students are involved in the production by lending their talents as performers, crew or tech support.

Come with your family and friends to enjoy this "tale as old as time" with our talented AOA students.
