AOAPA Updates

Dear Parents,

Just a quick update and a couple thank yous.

We had a great time at the Phoenix Fall Mixer last Friday night. Thanks to all the faculty, staff and parents who came. There were lots of Pink Ladies, several greasers, some poodle skirts and a biker dude who looked like Mr. Roman's twin brother.

Thank you to:

  • All the businesses and staff who donated items.
  • Marcus Smith from Innovative Blends, who donated the use of his photo booth and provided DJ services.  Marcus is the uncle of Candace (9th grade) and Miles (7th grade) Waytes.
  • Sonja Marusic (Alec 6th grade) for her special decorating skills.  The tables looked fabulous.

Thank you to Christie Parker (Isabel 1st grade) and Sonja Marusic (Alec 6th grade) for providing food to the faculty during Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 6th, 7th, and 13th.  We have received many notes from the faculty, thanking the AOAPA for making a long day go a little smoother.

For those of you who do not know, every month the AOAPA helps the Middle School students cerebrate their birthdays. Alison Ryan (Daniel 6th grade) has taken on the task of providing a monthly treat for the students at one of their Middle School meetings. We started this last year and it has been wonderfully received. After all, who doesn't like treats!  Thanks to Alison for volunteering to help with this project.

Once again our AOA car on the Polar Express has sold out. Tickets will be sent home next week in student folders.

The next AOAPA Meeting is our annual meeting at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday, December 6th, at 6:30 p.m.  It will be a perfect time to do some shopping, since a percentage of the proceeds with benefit the AOAPA libraries.

Hope to see some of you this Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fall Festival to help support our middle school students. Don't forget to contact anyone on the board with your ideas and suggestions or if you are looking for an opportunity to help out.

Happy Fall!
