AOAPA Updates

Dear AOA Parents,

Welcome back to a new school year. The AOA Parents Association is off and running!

For new parents; the AOAPA sends out this email newsletter on a monthly basis (typically the 3rd Wednesday of the month).  We made an exception this month due to the timing of upcoming events.

This year we held our 2nd annual Uniform Swap. Thanks to all of the parents who brought in clothing or purchased an item during this year's swap. We raised over $650; this money will be used to help support various projects throughout the year.  There may also be a mid-year swap, please stay tuned. Special thanks to Terri Benko, Lori Schneider, and all of the other parents who helped organize and run the swap. If you have any suggestions for improvements, please pass them along.

The Parents Association supports the school in a variety of ways.  We run social events, we raise money for teacher grants and we assist school personnel on various projects just to name a few. All parents are automatic members of the Parents Association.  We encourage you to visit our page on the AOA website to see what we are up to, come to our meetings, and offer suggestions. Have a great Fall.

Sincerely,

Middle School Event

Don't forget the Middle School Mixer this Friday, September 16th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Come socialize, burn off some calories and get a slice of pizza.  It won't be the same if you don't come!

Upcoming Meeting

The first Parents Association meeting of the year is this coming Tuesday, September 20th, at 6:30 pm. There will be a follow up meeting the next morning at 8:15 on Wednesday, September 21st. All meetings are in the Community Room, located in the Field House with parking available in the athletic parking lot.

All parents are encouraged to attend to find out our plans for the year, vote on this years budget and offer suggestions and ideas. The more parent participation we have the better we can be.

Fall Mixer

Save the date!  Invitations are on the way for the first ever Phoenix Fall Mixer.

This adult social event for parents, staff and friends of the school is an opportunity for us all to get together for a fun time. There will be food and drinks, a mystery to solve, some prizes to win and dancing. You can learn a magic trick or get your photo taken.

Can you get all the moms in your child's class in one photo? It's worth a try!  This is a casual event with a 50's theme so find some bobby sox or that Elvis jacket if you have one. You won't want to miss this one!
