A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

What a great beginning!! Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit all of the Lower School classrooms and it was like we never left. The students were excited to be back, but when I visited the classrooms, it was all business and some fun. Thank you for preparing your children for the new school year, it was quite evident that they were ready; maybe you were too!

I also made my rounds in the Middle and Upper School buildings to find students welcoming new students and helping them find their way. It really makes you feel good to know that our students do care and look out for one another.

For the third year in a row, our enrollment is up and this year we welcome 93 new students and their families. We are all thankful for your continued support of Andrews Osborne Academy. During this school year, we are committed to establishing a new Strategic Plan that will guide us through the next three to five years. We hope to have the Strategic Plan ready to share with you before Winter Break. Our main goals are:

1. continuing to concentrate on increasing the day enrollment

2. focusing on a financial plan which will increase the endowment for scholarships and lessen the burden on providing financial assistance including increasing the Annual Fund

3. providing faculty with increased professional development opportunities

4. maintaining our facilities in excellent condition as well as investigating our future needs

I look forward to seeing all of you during the school year and hopefully at the Phoenix Fall Mixer on October 14 at La Malfa. Thank you again for the great beginning.

Have a great long weekend and week ahead.

Chuck Roman

Legacy Luncheon

The Andrews Alumnae Association proudly presents their annual Legacy Luncheon on Saturday, September 24th. Funds raised at the luncheon provide scholarships to Andrews Osborne Academy students.

Award recipients will be announced in May and the funds dispersed to the students the following school year.  For more information about these sponsored scholarships, please click HERE.  Application forms and deadlines for 2012-2013 will be updated in the near future.

We hope you'll join the fun; the more money raised at the event, the more the Association can offer in scholarships to our students! Last year the Association awarded a total of $13,000 to ten recipients!

Come join us from 10:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. in the main gym in the Osborne Building.  Included in your $35 ticket price is: two (alcoholic) drink tickets, a favor and ten auction tickets!

Tickets may be purchased online at www.andrewsalumnaeassoc.com (then go to "Legacy Luncheon Tickets") or by mailing a check to Andrews Osborne Academy (attn: Andrews Alumnae Association), 38588 Mentor Ave., Willoughby, OH 44094. Please RSVP by Saturday, September 17th.
