A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

Where did another year go?  It seems to have gone by very fast and I have told a number of people that the month of May was a blur.  We went from a long cold winter and jumped right into summer.  Now the last day of school is here and it is time for all of us to say good-bye to our students for another year.  We want to thank all of you, our parents, for giving us the opportunity to teach your children and having them attend Andrews Osborne Academy.  We hope that you enjoy the summer months with your children as we will look forward to seeing everyone again on September 1st, the first day of school.

Summer Office Hours

If you are in need to speak to any of the administrators or directors during the summer, our office will be open during the week from 9:00-3:00 a.m. beginning June 14th up to August 19th.  We will begin regular office hours (8:00-4:00) on Monday, August 22nd.  Please don't hesitate to call if you have questions regarding forms, enrollment, etc.

Schedules (Middle and Upper School)

All students in the Middle and Upper School have received tentative schedules for next year.  There may be some changes to the schedule due to the number of students that have signed up for classes.  Next year we are offering an ACT and SAT prep class which will count for credit.  There is no additional cost for students to take this class.  If you would like your child to take one or the other, please make sure they sign up for this class or call Mrs. Walsh at 942-3600, extension 216.  Please go over your child's schedule with them so that you are aware of the classes he/she will take next year.

Fall Event for Parents/Staff - Mark Your Calendar

On Friday, October 14th, the Parents Association is sponsoring a fall event for parents/staff and friends of Andrews Osborne Academy.  We have enjoyed hosting Best of the East in the spring, but we have missed having an event for our parents/staff and friends.  The event will be held at La Malfa Party Center in Mentor.  More information will be sent to you, but please mark your calendar and save this date.  We hope that this event will give our families an opportunity to meet each other at all grade levels.

Student Athletes

If your son or daughter in the Middle or Upper school plans on playing a fall sport, they must have a physical completed prior to practice beginning in August.  They will not be able to participate without a physical.  We hope that if students are playing fall sports, they will use the summer to practice their skills.  Signing up for tennis, soccer, or volleyball camps would be one great way to keep in shape and improve skills.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Andrews Osborne Academy, we hope that all of you have a safe and enjoyable summer.  We will look forward to seeing you again at the Ice Cream Social on August 30th.

Have a great weekend and summer ahead.

Chuck Roman
