AOAPA Updates

Dear AOA Parents,

Welcome back from Spring Break.  I hope it was restful or at least fun.  As we head into April there is not much left of the school year, but things are very busy and will only get more so!

Please join us next Tuesday evening, April 12th, for our all parent AOAPA meeting.  It starts at 6:30 and this month will be held in the Community Room in the Osborne Building.  There will once again be a recap meeting Wednesday morning at 8:15 in the same location.  We will be discussing the budget, activities for next year, The Fine Arts Festival and Art Auction in May and various other items.  We value your input and now is the time to give it.  I hope to see you there; my guess is that we will have some pizza since it's Pizza Week! (see below).

All the best,

Sharon Graper

Middle School "Suessical" Cast Party

Just a reminder that the AOAPA will be hosting a "Suessical" cast party for all Middle School families (students, parents, siblings, etc.) immediately following the play this Friday, April 8th, in the Social Center in the Lee Building.

Please stop by to grab a snack, congratulate all of our wonderful actors and stage hands, and pick up a small gift that we have for each of the Middle School students.  You can stay for as short or as long of a time as you wish.  Don't worry if you didn't RSVP; all are welcome!

Pizza Week (April 10th - 16th)

Anybody hungry?  It's time for pizza!  The AOAPA is having a very painless fundraiser with J's Pizza Market, located in Mentor near Yours Truly on Rt. 615 between Mentor Avenue and Rt. 2.

For every pizza bought, AOA will get 20% of the profits and you get $1 off any pizza, any size.
Click HERE for the coupon you need to take advantage of this offer.  Click HERE for the menu.  Give them to your friends, neighbors and co-workers.  You do not have to be an AOA family, you just have to have the coupon.

You can get wheat or white crust, fresh veggies or all the meat and cheese you want.  They will bake it, or wrap it for you to bake it at home.  Pizza for dinner, pizza for lunch at work, pizza parties at sports events: the more pizza you eat, the more money we make!

CCIS Panel Discussion for Parents

Each year the Parent Group of the Cleveland Council of Independent Schools (CCIS), to which AOA belongs, works on a special interest topic.  This year's topic, "The Brain, Sports & Health," includes a panel discussion and will be held on April 20th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Hathaway Brown.

All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend this free session.  Several neuropsychologists and sports medicine physicians from Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals will be speaking.  Please click HERE for more details.

There is also a panel discussion for parents regarding Teen Sexuality, presented by the Kent State University Department of Public Health.  It is scheduled for April 14th at The Ratner School.  Please click HERE for more information.

Check out the CCIS website at www.ccis-ohio.org for other lectures and resources that may be of interest.
