Greetings!
I hope you are enjoying what we've had of summer so far in the Peace Country. Very close to home we have experienced extreme weather changes resulting with the fires in our neighboring community of Slave Lake to local and regional flooding, and a bit of sun in between. As our season can be short, this is the time to enjoy special moments with your families and friends. Here at the Foundation office, summer usually slows down for the staff, but this year we are busy with our Slave Lake Rebuilding efforts, the Vital Signs project, Crystal gala planning and many new exciting things as you will see below in our newsletter. I would like to personally thank the many community members for their kindness and support of the Slave Lake community. Your support will impact and contribute to the rebuilding efforts. Be sure to mark your calendar for our 9th annual Crystal gala to be held September 17th at the TEC Centre. Planning is well underway to ensure our valued guests enjoy a wonderful evening of food, wine and fellowship, all in support of our great community. Wishing you a fabulous summer season.

Your Community, Your Say . . .
This October, our Community Foundation will release Grande Prairie's first ever Vital Signs Report - an innovative community "check-up." The report assesses our City's quality of life in several key areas like learning, health, and gap between rich and poor.
Grande Prairie joins 22 Canadian cities/regions participating in the initiative. Vital Signs has become the platform for action among leaders, citizens, government and philanthropists. The reader-friendly report compiles statistics and citizen perceptions, and will provide valuable insight into both Grande Prairie's strengths and areas of need.
Next week, we invite you to participate in a short survey. Your opinion will help identify priorities of our citizens and will help shape future reports.
To participate - watch your inbox, or visit www.buildingtomorrowtoday.com/vitalsigns. Fill out the survey and enter to win a $50 gift certificate to Ric's Grill.
