Local Agency Funds Held at the Community Foundation
Sexsmith & Trading Area Estate & Financial Planning Session

Greetings!

This month in our e-news we celebrate 90 years of community philanthropy with the anniversary of the Winnipeg Foundation, Canada's oldest Community Foundation. As a member of Community Foundations of Canada, 175 community foundations strong across this great nation,  we share together, we learn together, and we celebrate together. Congratulations to the board and staff of the Winnipeg Foundation for 90 years of making a difference locally.

As a Foundation we are young, but wise at 15 years old. But in that 15 years we've managed to do some incredible things locally, all with the generous support of our fund holders, donors and volunteers. For without you, we would not exist. For this I say thank you and look what we have to look forward to. The more we grow our asset base of funds, the greater our community grants will be each year.

We look forward to the upcoming Community Foundation's of Canada International Conference in Vancouver this May to meeting with colleagues and sharing great resources, ideas and inspiration of community vitality.

LOCAL AGENCY FUNDS HELD AT THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Did you know the Community Foundation holds endowment funds for 5 local charities?

The Golden Age Centre Fund
Grande Prairie and Area Safe Communities Fund
Grande Prairie Live Theatre Fund
Grande Prairie Public Library Fund
and KidSport Grande Prairie Fund

An agency endowment fund is a safe and simple way for a nonprofit organization to establish its own endowment. Donors can be sure that the fund's principal will not be spent and can grow over time, providing a source of lasting support. And the community foundation's economies of scale provide your organization with the benefits of a diverse investment portfolio and low investment fees that typically come only with very large funds.

The community foundation can facilitate even the most complex planned gifts or gifts of appreciated stock or real estate. We handle investment management and the administrative responsibilities related to endowment so that these organization's staff and volunteer hours are concentrated on fulfilling their mission.

If any of these organizations are close to your heart we encourage you to consider a gift to their fund, a gift that will keep giving year after year, ensuring sustainable support for your favorite organization.

Your gift - and all future earnings from your gift - is a permanent source of community capital, helping to do good work forever. You can make a secure online gift to any one of these charitable funds at any time or contact our office at 780.538.2820 or info@buildingtomorrowtoday.com.
