Greetings!
Happy new year on behalf of the Foundation Board and Staff. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead. 2011 marks the Foundation's 15th anniversary and we have a few celebration projects planned for the year. Stay tuned for the exciting news...
Also for 2011, we have some returning Corporate Citizens as well as a few new partners that have joined the program. A special thanks to Canadian Tire returning as our Diamond partner yet again. And please join me in welcoming the local Holiday Inn Express, Motel 6 and the Ramada, Willsey Davis & Co. LLP and Enbridge Northern Gateway as new 2011 Corporate Citizens. All of our corporate sponsors help advance the work of the Foundation in allowing us to keep costs down and focus on the work we do daily in our community. For this I say "thank you." All our corporate partners are featured below in our e-newsletters and on our website.
I thank you all for your continued support of the Foundation the First 15 Years of Forever!

THE FIRST 15 YEARS OF FOREVER On January 10, 2011 the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie (CFGGP) celebrates its 15th anniversary as a public foundation created by and for the people of the Peace Region. The success of the Community Foundation is owed in part to the visionary work of its founding board members: Tom Bedore, Clyde Blackburn, Diane Bootle, Lyle Carlstrom, Kevin Chrenek, Gordon Graydon, Deryl Kloster, Bobbi Lambright, Dwight Logan, Kim Logan, Richard Mackie, Pete Merlo, Don Patterson, Gordon Pearcy, Pat Reid, Terry Tissington, Vince Vavrek and Dave Wylie. The current Foundation board acknowledges and thanks all those people for their foresight and dedication, which brought this region into the Community Foundation movement. "Their passion and dedication are etched into the history of the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie," says board chairman Brent Oilund. "As a result of their efforts, the Foundation has granted more than $3.7 million to charitable causes in the region, supporting more than 470 programs and projects." |
GRANDE PRAIRIE AUTO GROUP LEGACY FOUNDATION FUND Wes and Janis Kaban, Amanda Conly and Corey Sawchuk of Grande Prairie Auto Group present Tracey Vavrek with a generous donation for the creation of the Grande Prairie Auto Group Legacy Foundation Fund.
This new fund created last year was our 12th endowment fund created in 2010, and one new flow-through fund for a total of 13 new funds started in 2010! A special thanks to all fundholders for creating a sustainable resource for our community.
