Greetings!

At the Holiday Season, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress possible. The Foundation's early Founders wanted to preserve the best of our regions past, confront the challenges of today and always be prepared for tomorrow. They believed our region was ready to join the worldwide Community Foundation movement, they reached into their own pockets, spread the message, and got to work. As a result of their efforts the Foundation has grown steadily dispersing over $3.7 million dollars back locally supporting over 470 charitable programs and projects.

In this past year we welcomed our new Chair of the Board, Brent Oilund owner of Prairie Villa Insurance. Brent is born and raised in this community and has a deep commitment to giving back.

We were delighted to disperse just under $90,000 in grants supporting numerous charitable programs and projects.

2010 has brought remarkable regional growth for the Foundation with new Community Funds established in Sexsmith and Peace River and area. With the new North Peace Community Foundation Fund came our largest ever donation, $1 million from Mr. Frank Lovsin.

It's been a busy year for the Foundation and we are even more excited going into 2011, the Foundation's 15th anniversary.

By working with the Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie you are planting the seeds of your legacy today. We nurture your gift for you and your family, for years to come. We will help your gift grow, for future generations to enjoy.

It is in this spirit that we say... Thank You to you and your families and best wishes for the holidays and a happy New Year!

From the Community Foundation Staff, Board and Volunteers.
