Building A Legacy

According to the dictionary legacy is "something handed down from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past."

Many think of legacy as money or material bequeathed by one generation to the next, but legacy can be so much more. Traditions, values and wisdom, can all be handed down person to person, generation to generation as part of your legacy.

Our younger generation hears the world legacy and thinks of old age and death, something they don't have to consider at this point in their lives, right?

Legacy means building on who you are and what you do to make a significant impact on things that are important to you, and in turn your community.

How do you want to be remembered? What legacy are you building and leaving for the next generation? What is your legacy to your community?

"What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." Pericles

So ask yourself, what will you do today to start building your legacy?

Contact the Community Foundation to learn more about building your legacy for our community. Phone 780.538.2820 or email info@buildingtomorrowtoday.com. To learn more visit us on the web or find us on Facebook.

Inspire Empower Grow
We are all busy with our lives, our businesses and with our families. It is also incredibly important to come together and celebrate the good in what we do for our diversified community.

"This is the beginning of a new day.
You have been given this day to use as you will.
You can waste it or use it for good.
What you do today is important because you are
exchanging a day of your life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
in it's place is something that you have left behind...
let it be something good."
