Community Foundation of Greater Grande Prairie
Greetings!
Happy New Year from the Board, Staff and Volunteers of the Community Foundation!

At the new year many of us make resolutions and goals for ourselves for the year ahead. The Community Foundation also has created goals for ourselves and for our community. In 2010 we would like disperse at least $50,000 in charitable grants in our region and build our endowment funds to $2.75 million. To achieve these goals our Board of Directors has created and is implementing our strategic plan. Despite the economic events of last year we still managed to surpass our conservative granting goal of $25,000 dispersing over $53,000 in our community.

We know with the support of our communities and the generosity of our donors we can achieve these goals in 2010.

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank.  We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce

Warmest wishes,

Creation of new Joseph F. Reder/Hansen Fund
Kevin Hansen DonationThe Hansen Family has created a new fund with the Foundation to honor their late grandfather and father, Joseph F. Reder. When choosing to honor Joseph Reder, the Hansen family found it important to contribute to the Community Foundation as this new fund will touch the whole community, not just their family.

The purpose of this new fund will be to offer a student award to a Peace Country area resident who is currently residing in the Peace Country area and who is attending Grande Prairie Regional College in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree program.
