COE amendment reflects changes in business practices
As real estate professionals, the following should go without saying in how business is conducted day to day but the amendment puts in writing:
The class of persons about whom Realtors® should not knowingly or recklessly make false or misleading statements has recently been expanded. An examination of what this means and how it came to pass may be of interest. First, we note that this discussion of what Realtors® should and should not do is centered around the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Code of Ethics. Thus it applies to members of NAR. Real estate licensees who are not members of the Realtor® organization are not bound by the Code of Ethics.

GRI: Learn more, earn more
Based on 2011 survey data, the median income of REALTORS without a designation was $26,900 and the median income of those with at least one designation was $49,300. A difference of $22,400. Need another reason to earn the designation - all GRI courses count towards CE. A change for this year is the GRI specific electives will not be offered, however, any NAR certification or designation course hours - online or classroom - will count as GRI elective hours, call KAR for more info 800.264.2185.
