Congress fails to act on loan limits
Congress failed to extend the FHA and GSE mortgage loan limits. On Oct. 1, those limits declined in 669 counties in 42 states, including 16 counties in KY for FHA loans. The new limits will be equal to 115% of local area median home price (from 125%). The high cost cap will fall from $729,750 to $625,500. To determine your new loan limit, find your county; if your county is not listed, your limit will not change. NAR will continue to work with Congress to attempt to restore the higher limits as quickly as possible. View the county chart |

UAD: What's the deal on appraisals
To improve the quality and consistency of appraisal data on loans delivered to the GSEs, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, at the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), have developed the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD), which defines all fields required for an appraisal submission for specific appraisal forms and standardizes definitions and responses for a key subset of fields.

Election for NAR Region IV VP
KAR has a vacancy for Kentucky's nominee for the NAR Vice President for Region IV which includes Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Interested candidates should complete the nomination form and return it to KAR by October 18, 2011 by close of business. The nomination form identifies the qualifications required by NAR. The Delegate Body will vote to fill this vacancy by written ballot. Ballots will be e-mailed to delegates on October 19, 2011 and the BOD and Delegate Body will give formal approval and ratification of the nominee at the December meeting. |
