Year End Giving

The Children's Museum, Seattle is blessed with a rich heritage of community support. For over 31 years, the Museum has been a place where community members come together with families for the benefit of children. While located on the Seattle Center campus, the Museum is a separate 501c3 organization. The Museum's budget relies on approximately 40% in contributions that span from individual giving, grants and a wide variety of in-kind donations of supplies and services.

December Family Fun Series
DMBDiscussions with Donna Marie

During this holiday season, isn't it nice when you get a great tip on what someone special might enjoy?  You find out that your niece is really into knitting or a cousin has just shown a new interest in painting.  It's little tips and clues on what will make someone smile or add to their experience that help make our gifts that much more special.

OwlWe are starting to provide such tips in a new way here at the Museum, we are calling them "Caregiver Tips".   You will notice them wherever you see this cute little fellow.

Our experienced staff is providing age-appropriate suggestions to interact with your child inside an exhibit.  They are simply ideas and suggestions for you as play with your child in the Museum. Of course, your child's growth and imagination is what will add the magic to the moment!

Speaking of magical moments, plan to join us on December 17th and 18th for a visit from St. Nicholas.  We have worked diligently to provide a calm, fun time for you and your child with Santa.   Children can play in the Museum while they wait for their turn.  Each small group of children hear some favorite stories about St. Nicholas and as the story time ends with "T'was the Night Before Christmas" it will be time to see Santa!

From our Museum family to yours - may this season be filled with wonderful discoveries!

RED RANGER CAME CALLING, A GUARANTEED TRUE CHRISTMAS STORY
by Berkeley Breathed

Adapted and directed by Myra Platt, music by Myra Platt and Edd Key

Now through December 23 in the Eve Alvord Theatre at SCT
Book-It's musical holiday favorite, Red Ranger Came Calling, is based on the true story of the author's father who, at age nine, insisted on being addressed as the "Red Ranger of Mars." Christmas 1939, the Red Ranger was sent to Vashon Island to spend the holiday with Aunt Vy, where his encounter with an ancient man named Saunder Clös left an indelible mark on the landscape still visible today!
