Discussions with Donna Marie
Many years ago in Kansas, family
fun night at our house included a paper version of battleship. Methodically
and carefully my brothers and I penciled in the placement of our ships on a
home-made grid, knowing that the true goal of the game was to sink all of dad's
ships first. Family nights continued as we got older, we took turns
having the parties at our respective homes, complete with food and a game for
the evening. The game plan is still clear to this day ... be sure we beat
dad!
Next month we'll be introducing a
new series of Family Fun Nights at the Museum. No, we won't have a paper
battleship game, but we will have all the pieces to make a fun and memorable
evening.
In October, we are hosting a
Pumpkin Carving Party.You bring the
pumpkin and we will have tools and supplies ready for you. And the added bonus, we'll clean up the mess
afterward! Each of our Family Fun Nights will include an activity for the
family with educational aspects, some goodies and a take home idea to continue
the fun. Mark your calendars for the 4th
Wednesday of each month to be at the Museum from 6 - 8pm.
*To cover the cost of supplies and goodies, there will be a
$3/person charge for members and $5/person charge for non-members. Online registration is required.
