Discussions with Donna Marie
In my office I have a picture of my son driving the Museum's bus when he was two. In another picture from that same day, he was in the fire engine racing off to put out imaginary blazes. Well, my son is 22 now. . . it's hard to believe that twenty years can fly by so fast. It's also a bit amazing that his favorites remain some of the favorite exhibits for our little ones today.
I think we can all agree that The Children's Museum, Seattle is a well-loved icon of Seattle. I'd like to take a moment and give you a few updates on some of our well-loved exhibits.
If you haven't visited Go Figure! in the last few weeks, you should stop by and see the new look and activities. We have made a few changes to allow space for two activity tables where children can create a hands-on project that can further convey the math principles in the books. Currently, we are making a construction paper quilt that each child can add to.
In the upcoming months you will notice more changes around the Museum. We will be posting signs outlining the changes and updating our website as well. The upcoming changes are possible because of the partnerships the Museum has - updates to Cog City by McKinstry, the grocery story is getting updates thanks to Metropolitan Market and Dunn Lumber is helping with changes to Construction Zone.
In closing, I want to thank everyone who helped us celebrate the Museum's 30th Birthday! We had a wonderful time and look forward to sharing photos and more stories about our time together. It was such a success that we have made a commitment to celebrate our birthday every February! Just as the years have flown by with my son's birthdays, so will this next year. Plan now to join us to celebrate the Museum's 31st birthday in February 2011.
