This month, turn a walk into a springboard for creativity!

Items:
Brown Paper Bags
Clear Contact Paper
Tape

Give everyone on the walk a small paper bag.  During the walk, add 10 natural times to your bag (leaves, stick, etc.).  When you return home, trade bags!

Tape clear contact paper to the wall (sticky side out!) and have each child use the items from their bag to create fun characters!  Ask questions about the characters and encourage your child to create a story around their original character!!  (If you have more art supplies at home, children can build a character - like Pinecone Polly!)Polly Pinecone

Did you know?

This simple at home project uses the child's senses, ability to problem solve, collaborative learning skills, creativity, and helps with literacy.

It's flu season and as parents and grandparents, keeping our precious little ones healthy and happy is at the forefront of our minds.  The Children's Museum, Seattle isn't taking flu season lightly and I want you to know the steps we take to continue to make sure that TCM stays a safe and fun place to play.
We take all of the standard precautions - hand washing, sending home staff with any signs of sickness, wiping down all surfaces, providing hand sanitizing stations - but with kids at play, we know so much more than that is required.
We use products from EnvirOx which have the 3 qualities we require - kills 99.9% of specified viruses and bacteria, is green and is 100% kid safe.  (It's also the choice of many hospitals, amusement parks, government buildings and other high traffic organizations).  Using different dilutions of these products, we are able to keep our play surfaces clean and safe.   We also rank our play areas based on what touches them (feet, bottoms, hands, and mouths) and clean accordingly.
Join us for a day of play and rest assured that we are continue to provide a safe place for children and their families.

                                   Take some time to play!

"The activities that are the easiest, cheapest, and most fun to do-such as singing, playing games, reading, storytelling, and just talking and listening-are also the best for child development."
