A big THANK YOU!! to PONCHO (www.poncho.org) for their generous grant of $8,000 to support the Arts Education programs at The Children's Museum, Seattle.  This award is a $3,000 increase over previous years and will help insure that the Museum can continue to bring our families together with a variety of unique artists and cultural activities.
PONCHO, along with other grants and donations, help us fund programs such as Cultural Sundays, Arts in the Afternoon and Folklore & Fables.  Storytellers, theater groups and cultural groups bring lively and interactive programs to us each week.

Bubbles!  Bubbles!
Explore the world of bubbles at home!

    Materials:                                           Bubble Mix:
          water                                                               1 gallon water
liquid dish detergent                            1/2 cup liquid dish detergent
        glycerin                                                             1/4 c glycerin
jelly pan or pie pan
         Straws
         Yarn

Bubble Maker:
Create a homemade bubble maker by threading a string through 2 straws.  Tie the strings together and hide the knot in one of the straws.  You now have a bubble loop with 2 handles!

What to do:
Pour some of the bubble mix into your pan.  Holding the 2 straws of the bubble maker together, dunk it into the mixture.  Lift with the straws together and then slowly seperate them forming a bubble sheet. Blow gently!

Did you know a cheese grater, a potato masher, or the plastic bottom of a strawberry container is a great bubble maker?
