dear friends of cifo,

Welcome to the fourth issue of our monthly e-letter!

We hope that this e-letter will help you stay up-to-date with information about cifo´s upcoming events and exhibitions. This fall, our exhibition Shifting Constructs, which opened on September 13th, showcases the work of the 8 award recipients from cifo´s 2009 Grants & Commissions Program. cifo presents newly commissioned works by the award recipients of both programs in one single exhibition. The six emerging artists who were awarded grants are: Miguel Amat (Venezuela), Gabriel Antolínez (Colombia), Suwon Lee (Venezuela), Juan León (Ecuador), Ricardo Réndon (Mexico) and José Ruiz (Peru). The two mid-career artists selected as recipients of the Commissions Award are Dora Longo Bahia (Brazil) and Oscar Muñoz (Colombia).

In this special occasion cifo opened its doors to the public that walked excitedly through its galleries gazing at the proposals of eight new artists from Latin America. Ms. Ella Fontanals-Cisneros, cifo´s Founder and Chairman of the Board, greeted guests with some opening words, "It has been a pleasure to work with these artists over the past months and we thank them for this wonderful and exciting show." She especially thanked EFG International for its generous support with this exhibition and its 2010 tour in Latin America.

cifo is already preparing itself for the arrival of Art Basel Miami Beach, with an exhibition drawn from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection that will open to the public on December 2nd and be on display until March 7, 2010.
