It takes a village-or enough volunteers to qualify as one-to raise an association

The ASWB Delegate Assembly took time out of its business meeting in October to honor the many volunteers who completed various committee and task force terms last year. Each volunteer received an engraved Jefferson cup-an association tradition that reflects ASWB's "home base" in Virginia, not far from Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.  Pictured here are, from left, Darrell Allman (AK), Ken Middlebrooks (MN), Janice James (KY), Marcia Heitz (IL), Jane Anker (SC), Maureen Egan (RI), "Doc" Davis (AZ), Tim Brown (TX), Valerie Jones (IN), David Hamilton (NY), Jim Rough (OH), Robin Jenkins (DC), and Jerry Satterwhite (AL). Also receiving cups but unable to attend were Wendy Keen (NS), Richard Gruchy (NS), Robert Showers (LA), Andrew Marks (TX), Mark Oldham (OR), Jeff Scanlan (WI), Dale Smith (KY), Janet Lenard (GA), and Lynn Melton (SC).

ASWB provides information to Chinese regulators

Chinese delegation visits ASWB headquarters in CulpeperLast month, the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) hosted the Professional Licensure Examination Delegation from the People's Republic of China. The 27 visitors travelled to the association office in Culpeper, Virginia to discuss examination construction, maintenance, and administration, as well as regulatory systems in the U.S., Canada, and China. Pictured with the delegation in the center of the group is ASWB Examination Program Manager Phil Gullion.  Last year, the association has hosted a  delegation from Korea, and ASWB staff travelled to Washington, D.C. to present examination information to another group of Chinese regulators and testing experts.
