SEARCH FOR THE GREEN DRAGON

Thursday, June 2 at 6:00pm, Hull Road, Sandusky 

 

Meeting at Parking Lot of Pelton Park

 

The green dragon flower is an unusual shape which resemble either the tongue or the tail of a dragon.  Bring your camera and prepare to get  muddy, boots strongly suggested. 

 

TREE ID WALK

Monday, June 13 at 10:00am, 4011 Cleveland Road West (Rt. 6), Huron  

Stockdale Arboretum at the East Sandusky Bay MetroPark 

Learn how to identify trees by their leaves and bark.  

 

 

LEARN TO FISH THE RIGHT WAY GEARED TOWARDS KIDS 

Tuesday, June 21, 1:00 to 3:00pm at the James H. McBride Arboretum Visitor's Center

 

This is a fun, adventure-education program designed to teach skills needed to dive into the wonderful world of fishing! Get a free  Zebco rod & reel when you complete the 2 hour course. 

Open to youth in grades K-12, limit 10 participants, must pre-register by Monday, June 19.

The New Marvelous Outhouse!

That is it ....we got new outhouse. The Riverview ancient artifacts have been removed and new houses are in place. The new outhouses are located on the corner of Cliffview Lane and South Lagoon Lane.

Annual Festival of the Fish Pet Parade  

Friday, June 17th at 12:30 pm

 

  

The Vermilion Chamber has planned the 45th Annual Festival of the Fish. Anticipation is high for this exciting action packed weekend. Dick Goddard, Meteorologist, will kick off on FOX8 and will host this pet parade event. Participants are ask to preregister for this event, checking one of the five categories on the entry form:  

 

Best Trick

Longest Tail

Cutest Pet

Most Unusual Pet

Owner/Pet Look-a-like

 

Pet owners parade their pet to in front of the panel of three judges. Scores are tallied at the end, and the winner of each category wins a Festival of the Fish official trophy. They will also win a merchant gift certificate from the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce.

presents Festival of the Fish Jay Hershey 5K Run    

 

 

This Race is in Vermilion on Saturday, June 18   

Vermilion Family YMCA, 320 Aldrich Road  

 

Participates must register at 8:00am & the race begins at 9:00am. 

 

Registration forms are available at the YMCA or Cleveland Clinic. There will be T-shirts given to the first 100 registered participants. Awards to the Best Overall Female & Male and winners in each age division.   

 

Competitive Age Divisions include:  

Perch (14 and under) 

Bluegill (15-19)

Steel-head (20- 29) 

Sunfish (30-39) 

Bass (40-49) 

Walleye (50-59) 

Sturgeon (60 and older)

 

Check, cash, Visa and Master Card will be accepted.  The cost is $15 for pre-register and $20 race day.  The entry fees are non- refundable. All proceeds benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Call the YMCA for more information at (440) 967-4208.
