Enjoy a special week of nature activities as we
explore the unique places, plants and animals of the Vermilion
Reservation. This week-long program is for kids ages 6-8, snack will be
included.

- KIDS STEPPING STONE WORKSHOP - Noon-5 pm Vermilion River Reservation Carriage Barn
Artist Sherree Ferrato will be teaching us how to
create and decorate a 7-inch stepping stone for your garden. An
excellent project for kids and adults alike.
Pre-register by 6/15 with
design choice & PAY $30 at the door.

Reservation Amphitheater
Bop to the Big Band Beat! The Bell Aires
are back for another summer at Mill Hollow so bring a picnic dinner
while you enjoy the music. Meet at the Amphitheater.

- WASTEWATER TREATMENT TOUR - 1-3 pm Vermilion River Reservation
Carriage Barn
A presentation on local waterways will be followed by a
trip to the Black River Wastewater Treatment Plant. We will be learning
how our local water systems work and the importance of taking care of
our natural habitats.
Pre-register by 6/15 to reserve a spot on the
Park Shuttlebus, spaces are limited!
6/26 - KIDS PASSPORT TO FISHING- 10 am-3 pm Vermilion River Reservation Shelter #1
In
collaboration with Ohio Division of Natural Resources, we will be
conducting this day-long workshop on fishing. Learn everything from
casting and tying techniques to the local fish species. Bring a picnic
lunch to enjoy at the park!
Appropriate for kids ages 5-17.

Fly the Flag June 14
The
Vermilion Veterans Council will celebrate Flag Day on Sunday,
June 14
at 7 pm at Exchange Park.
Vermilion residents are encouraged to attend
and to fly the
American flag at their homes.
Flag Day In
the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates
the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day
by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.
In
1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially
established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was
established by an Act of Congress.

This year's theme is "The Circus and Circus
Animals." Prizes awarded for all entries.

Picnic Tables Available! We have 25 picnic tables for sale. Each seat 8 to 10 adults. They need some fixing up and paint. You can purchase one for $100. Six tables have already been sold. Use them at your campsite for a gathering space or take them elsewhere. Call Linda for infomation.

First Annual Riverview Father's Day Breakfast is on Sunday June 21st8:00am to 10:0am
 Everyone at Riverview is invited to honor The
Father's of Riverview. Pancakes, sausage, pastries, donuts, coffee, tea, &
juices will be served!
We would like all The Gals of Riverview to join us to serve breakfast to all our guys. Bring a tablecloth and your own special place settings for you family.
You do not need to be a father to attend. Extra place settings will be available for anyone that needs them.

Crazy Craft Regatta
The
Vermilion Festival of Fish celebrates Crazy Craft Regatta on Saturday,
June 20, 2009
This year's theme is "The Circus & Circus Animals." $1,500.00 in prize money will be awarded. Entry forms & guidelines are available at the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce.
The Crazy
Craft Races take place at 1 pm on the Vermilion River. The event is
open to all, so all you need is some imagination to build whatever kind
of vessel inspires you.
The annual Lighted Boat Parade takes place at dusk on the Vermilion River. Fish Festival Floats pictures from previous year.

Vermilion's
Festival of the Fish
 It is one of the largest festivals in the area.
Every year the City of Vermilion celebrates the sea on a grand scale
with parades, boat parades, races, pageants, contests, food,
entertainment, markets and much more. On
Friday young girls vie for the coveted title of princess or queen in
one of the largest festival pageants in the county. Dozens of animals
walk in the annual pet parade. Kids games take place at the gazebo.
On
Saturday the day kicks off with a 5K run and 1-mile walk sponsored by
the YMCA and a Sand Castle Contest at Main Street Beach.
The
Annual Father's Day Parade steps off at 12:30 pm on Sunday. Don't miss
the wet and wild Firefighters Water Fight immediately following the
parade. 
Food, entertainment, vendors and beverages each day begining at noon in Victory Park.
