News from the School
The Club shares the facilities with Charterhouse, one of the countries great historic schools and when the pupils are away there is still a hive of activity going on, especially at this time of year.
Here are just a few of the groups that are staying with us at the school.
- The National Youth Music Theatre has been rehearsing here before going on stage in London for a one week run of Sweeney Todd.
- We have recently played host to a group of children from America staying at Charterhouse on a Cultural tour
- A party of Chinese students are currently visiting on a Business Enterprise course, lead by the school. They will also be familiarizing themselves with the sites and sounds of a whole host of venues to experience a taste of Britain.

This Months Recipe - Cashew & Sesame Quinoa
We thought it would be a great time to introduce a few recipes over the coming months for you to try.
This one comes from our very own Louise Field who thought you might enjoy a great alternative to Couscous that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Ingredients 100g dry weight Quinoa 1 teaspoon of reduced salt vegetable bouillon powder 5 tablespoons fresh/thawed peas 2 tablespoons cashew nuts 2 teaspoon sesame seeds 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 teaspoon lemon juice 1 grated carrot 5 spring onions finely sliced Black pepper (to taste)
Method Add dry Quinoa and bouillon powder to saucepan, cover with double the amount of cold water and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until the water has been completely absorbed and the Quinoa is soft and fluffy. Add the peas and stir through for a few minutes then remove from the heat.
Combine the remaining ingredients and enjoy!

Help us get into the record books
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Charterhouse Cub which was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1996.
As part of the Clubs celebration activities we are going to attempt to break a world record later this year. The only question right now is which one and we'd like you're suggestions. It can be an attempt at a new world record or a challenge on an existing one. The only stipulation is that it should in some way have a Health & Fitness connection.
If you'd like some inspiration and see what types of records you could suggest why not hop over to the Guinness Book of Records web site here.
.. and finally
This month we're really looking to encourage more input from you in our monthly newsletter. If you would like to share your news with other members please do let us know.
At Club level we have new timetables available on the web site and during the summer there are some alterations to some Group Exercise Classes so do make sure you make a note to check the notice boards in the Club.
