U can ¢HANGE Uganda

During 2012 MCCLV is working with UFMCC's Global Outreach to end oppression, persecution and create a safe haven in the African country of Uganda. Our goal is to raise $1,500 to support this important and life sustaining ministry that seeks to counter the negative influences of the American Religious Right. Our Moderator, The Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson writes: We are making great alliances there, and working to help establish safe space, and also helping to establish an "enterprise zone" so that the young people there who are coming out also have a means of support, can have jobs and support themselves as they fight for human rights and try to stay in their country safely. . . . For additional information on the history and current status of the oppression in Uganda, click HERE. Consider giving an additional gift of $20, $50, $100, $250, $500 or any amount above and beyond your regular giving to this important outreach. Or pick-up one of the FREE coin banks at the info center/slat wall and start collecting your spare change.

MCC of the Palm Beaches
Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Each month MCCLV prays for someone and their ministry--beyond our local church. During the month of February we are praying for Rev. Dr. Lea Brown and MCC of the Palm Beaches. Her specific prayer requests are:
  • That our new Board of Directors will be united in purpose.
  • That all of our Lenten "Holy Conversations" small groups will deepen connections and create new bonds of friendship and understanding in the congregation.
  • That our Food Pantry that is serving 2,000+ people per month will have all the resources it needs.
  • That as many people as possible will be touched, supported, uplifted and encouraged through our HIV Drop-In Center in the year ahead.
