ONE Service for Unity & Peace
|
"In the Name of God, most Gracious, most Merciful" 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Sunday, September 11, 2011
10am ONLY
(There will NOT be services at 5:30, 9:00 or 11:00 this week.)
This year September 11th falls on a Sunday and also marks 10 years since the tragedy that shocked the entire world. On that weekend Metropolitan Community Church of Las Vegas will have ONE UNITED and COMBINED service at 10am on Sunday, September 11th. (The 5:30, 9 and 11 services will NOT meet for worship on this weekend. The regular worship schedule will resume on the following weekend.)
This unique service will focus on Unity and Peace as we look forward to a brighter future and seek to heal the divisions that exist within our world. "Respect and understanding for different cultures and faiths are essential if we are to answer the call of Jesus to be peacemakers through reconciliation and forgiveness," said MCCLV's Senior Pastor, Rev. W. Wayne Lindsey. The entire community is invited to attend and take PRIDE in our diversity and our strength.
The speaker for this event will be Dr. Aslam Abdullah who is the Imam & Executive Director of the Islamic Center of Nevada. The service will also include the upbeat and inspiring talents of MCCLVs NewSong Band & Singers along with outstanding soloists Tim Searcy, Joan Sobel (from Phantom Las Vegas), and Lloyd Ziel. An original composition, written especially for 9/11 by Laurence Sobel, will also be featured.
Metropolitan Community Church of Las Vegas is committed to the broader vision of the International MCC Movement of:
Tearing Down Walls, Building Up Hope
