Inspiring Faithfulness

Beyond the "Widow's Mite"One of our members recently received a gift of 10 Gold South African Krugerrands. This anonymous donor is someone that believes in Tithing (giving 10%) and without hesitation gave 1 of the 10 back to God through MCCLV.
This story is particularly inspiring because the donor is NOT a wealthy person and this gift (valued at approx. $1500) represents a sacrifice that is much greater than many of us make through our regular giving.
Jesus challenged the people of his day to do more than to just give what was comfortable from their surplus.

Jane Syftestad & Camille Araullo
"2gether Blessed" Join us at the 5:30 Rainbow Service on Saturday evening for a special treat. Our musical guests will be: "2gether Blessed" featuring Jane Syftestad and Camille Araullo. Jane currently serves as music director for MCCLA (the Founding Church of our MCC Movement). She has traveled extensively around the country, giving concerts and choir workshops for churches. Camille has been singing for Christ since 2002, and, in 2008, joined Metropolitan Community Church Los Angeles. She is part of the MCCLA Voices. Rev. Dr. Neil Thomas, Senior Pastor for MCCLA said, "Jane and Camille bring the joyful message of God's love and grace through song, word, and testimony.
They sing a progressive message of hope and justice, and speak of how God has changed their lives and given them a reason to sing for everyone who will hear." A "Love Offering" will be received for Jane & Camille.

Rev. Karen Thompson For the month of July, MCCLV is praying for the ministry of Rev. Karen Thompson and the congregation of MCC Austin, TX Our specific prayers for her and for the church are: - A favorable resolution to existing challenges regarding our property and how/if it can be built upon.
- Creativity in dealing with our over-crowding. (It's a wonderful challenge to have, but we're out of room.)
- For our Board as they make difficult decisions about whether we will build here or move.
- For the congregation and all their mixed emotions about our growing church. Some want to stay, others hope to relocate closer to their homes, some don't think we're moving fast enough, others don't see the need to grow, and everything in between.
