A Personal Testimony of Faith . . .
|
 Claudia & Orlena
We firmly believe in tithing. One of the most powerful notions we try to live by in our home is, "You get what you give." We teach our children that what you put out into the world is exactly what you get back. The same goes with our dedication to tithing at MCC Las Vegas. Someone, before we came along, believed in tithing, and thanks to him or her we found a place that we needed so much. What we have received from MCC has nothing to do with money, but has everything to do with comfort, acceptance, hope, and a place to worship in peace. Without tithing MCC might not have the resources necessary to exist. We hope with our contribution someone whom we have not yet met, will find what we found when they finally discover their way to MCC." - Ms. Orlena Rascon & Ms. Claudia Sánchez Generosity Changes Everything

Rev. Harry Knox Resurrection MCC, Houston,TX
April Prayer Partner: Rev. Harry Knox and Resurrection MCC, Houston, TX. Their specific prayer requests are: - We seek to change the climate in our schools and ultimately the larger community. Prayers for our Safe Schools Action Team which has convened to work towards reducing bullying violence towards students, educators, and administrators.
- We seek to create a safer world, which has been made poignant for us by the recent suicides of three friends of our congregation. Prayers as our members re-double their efforts to care for each other and show God's unconditional love in our world.
- We seek to provide a safe space for all of God's children and sometimes that literally means a safe physical space. Prayers as we work to replace our water-draining gutters so that our children can grow in a safe, dry, mold-free space.
- We seek to be the leading social justice congregation in the fourth largest city in the U.S. Prayers for our rededication to this calling as Resurrection celebrates 39 years of ministry in Houston and Rev. Harry Knox's Installation Celebration on Sunday, May 1.
