Pantie Raid Testimonial

The 2010 Pantie Raid(The following testimony was sent by one of our members and is used with her permission. Identifying information has been removed to respect her privacy.)I want to take a moment and commend you for making the panty raid such a
success! Five years ago I was a victim of domestic violence. My then
husband, took me hostage in a restroom where he proceeded to beat me
for 7 hours, with our 4 year old right outside the door. That same day I
left. And yes, it's true when you say, "only with clothes on my back."
We were homeless for two weeks. During my struggle, I remember a time
when I had to choose between gassing my car or buying socks for my sons.
I chose the gas because I still had to drive my sons to school and
myself to work. I did seek help from the people of Safe Nest. Not only
did they offer me a place to stay, they also offered me legal advice. I
was fortunate enough not to stay in a woman's shelter because my good
friend opened up her home to us. Yet, I am eternally grateful to Safe
Nest for the help and support they gave me with my legal issues and
paper work. I make it a point to donate to them every chance that I get.
I thank you again for helping out such an important organization and
for touching the lives of abused women and children in our community! Respectfully, One
of your Members! _______________________________________________ Dear Xxxxxxxx, Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I had no idea and
I'm deeply touched by your testimony and the unfortunate ordeal that you
endured. I knew that the "Panty Raid" was the right thing to do but
your story really brings it HOME. I continue to give thanks for the
members and friends of MCCLV who have embraced this project and who made
it a success. May God continue to Bless you on your journey, Wayne You ARE touching lives and changing the world!
