Rental Income shortfall creates
Missed Ministry Opportunities

Income from commercial rents by tenants in our building is projected to be $25,000 to $30,000 LESS than was anticipated by year end.
We give thanks for the faithfulness our Community of Faith during
these difficult economic times. For the first seven months of 2009, the
Congregation of MCCLV has continued to meet the projected amounts for
generosity through "tithes and offerings."
In order to offset
the shortfall in the "Commercial Rents" line item of our ministries
plan (due to tenants that are not current on their rents) the Board of
Directors has instituted the following proactive and fiscally responsible adjustments to the 2009
Ministries Plan:
- An invitation to encourage those who can to:
- step-UP and increase their level of financial support to the General Fund for the ministry of MCCLV.
- sign-UP for participation in automatic giving through electronic funds transfer from your bank account or your debit/credit card.
- Salary reduction for Senior Pastor
- Salary reduction for Associate Pastor
- Reduction in operational costs including scaling back of office hours
- Discontinuation of paid cleaning services for sanctuary & rest rooms
- Opportunity for volunteers to participate in the clean-UP of the sanctuary & rest rooms
- Reduction of amount allocated for "repairs"
- Reduction in number of paid musicians for worship
- Allocations for 2010 General Conference deleted from 2009 ministries plan and deferred until next year

Ongoing analysis and review for possible additional cuts, rollbacks and savings
We need to BOTH increase our level of giving/generosity to the General Fund AND reduce our expenses for this revised Ministries Plan to work and be effective in offsetting the reduction in rental income.
