During the Month of July,
MCCLV Celebrated Christmas in July

Because of YOUR generous OUTPOURING of love we were able to collect:
  • 432 bottles of water
  • 247 "pop-top" or style instant snacks
  • miscellaneous toiletries
  • $44.00 (to purchase $5 gift cards)
to assist Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth as they help young people seeking a respite and a relief from the summer desert heat.

False Fliver Becomes Blessing

On July 19th, MCCLV was visited by the "Truth Truck" and a band of about 20 picketers.
 
The vehicle formerly known as the "Truth Truck" has become a BLESSING for MCCLV

UPDATE: Last week's email describing the events of 19JUL09 and including Megan's wonderful and powerful testimony has set new records. It has become our most widely circulated, most widely read and most widely forwarded email to date. In addition, TWO local publications--NightBeat and Q-Vegas--are both planning to run articles about the incident and we have received calls expressing interest in our church. MORE people are now hearing about the powerful message and ministry of MCCLV and are being drawn to this place.

(FYI: The dictionary defines a "Fliver" as "a jalopy, a rundown automobile.")

During the month of August we are praying for Rev. Elder Arlene Ackerman

Her specific prayer requests are:
  • a restful 2 month sabbatical - after 17 years of working for the denomination it is much needed
  • clarity around my new position as a Resource Specialist for MCC on church development
  • reconnection with my family - not being on the road 1/3 of the time any more
  • God to direct my path each day.
We give thanks for her dynamic ministry, witness and leadership!
