Mothers and their children

part of our Mother's Day observance we collected NEW
(in the package) underwear & socks for women and children to be
donated to Safe Nest and The Shade Tree. (For more info, CLICK on the links.) Women seeking shelter from abusive relationships often arrive with only the clothes on their backs.
Because of YOUR GENEROSITY we collected:
- 703 briefs
- 208 pairs of socks
- 10 miscellaneous garments
- 61 bras (purchased with the $349 that was also given)
Pastor Wayne "caught" buying bras (with help from Marie Tasker) at a local discount store.

The Generosity of MCC Las Vegas is making a difference for children in the 50 poorest countries of the world!

Changing the World begins by educating children who then become the agents of change.
The goal of One Laptop per Child
is to revitalize & empower learning by providing low-cost laptops
to students in the world's 50 poorest countries.
For a gift of $199,
beyond your regular tithes or offerings, you can provide a durable
& energy-efficient computer designed just for kids. MCCLV's 2009
goal is to give at least 12 laptops, one per month.
Consider the
possibility of sponsoring one or more or giving a partial gift toward a
laptop. Make checks payable to:
"MCCLV" and put "Child Laptop" in the
memo.
