Hi there!

It's beginning to look A LOT like Christmas around here... Especially with the bit of snow we got yesterday and last night.Oh Christmas Tree.....

We won this cute little tree at the Habitat For Humanity, "Festival of Trees" fundraiser on Sunday. It's out on the deck, so I guess I can say that we've started decorating, right?

Ho Ho Ho!

Hot Off the Easel!
I've been working on new beginning acrylic classes most of the week. The classes are held at Michael's in Traverse City. (Michigan) I've added a still life, still life exampleand a winter landscape.                        Winter Landscape class

The classes are 2 hours long, and you should have a finished painting at the end. If you, or someone you know is interested in learning to paint with acrylic..come and join me! :)

Below is another example of the gouache ink resist technique that I explained in an earlier newsletter.
I love snow...I guess that's why we live in northern Michigan!

Idea Spark-lers
Do you need some painting ideas to get you going? Well, you've come to the right place!

paint on your plain business envelopes... spread some cheer, and practice at the same time!

Who wouldn't like to receive this in the mail? There is something freeing about painting on something plain and simple like an envelope. Remember, it's just doodles and sketches that you're sharing with the postal workers, and whoever you address the envelope to! :)

Even if it's a bill.... why not make someone smile with this random act of kindness. One of these is our property tax payment. Bet they've never received a handpainted envelope! LOL
