Keep Climbing ~ Original Mixed Media painting
Here's the newest painting in the "High Road" series...I thought it was appropriate for tax day. The light at the end of the climb. Even if it's not good tax news, at least it's done for another year. I really don't know how much longer I'll be working on the "High Road" series. I don't seem to tire of the theme.
But, I have a new series idea percolating... (percol...percol...percol)
Stay tuned! :)
Idea Spark-lers
Do you need some painting ideas to get you going? Well, you've come to the right place!

Working within a theme or in a series...
I fought this sage advice for years...
Really.... for years.

To baby step into the idea... I decided to do a series of paintings all the same size. That's it. That's the only parameter I gave myself.

Year Of Painting images

This isn't the 'thinking artists' way to go about it, it was my juvenile way to go. You know, the...
"I can't tie down my oh so creative self" sort of attitude.

I had to prove to myself that I could stick to some sort of parameter...so I did a painting a week for a year... all 8 x 8 inches square.

And at the end of the year, I had 52 paintings... all the same size... though all completely different subjects, styles and mediums. Here's a link to the series if you are interested.

So...if you are having trouble with the series idea, try just one limitation, size of the paper worked for me...
And if I can do it... ANYONE can do it!
