About White Columns   

White Columns is New York's oldest non-profit gallery. Founded in 1970 by Jeffrey Lew and Gordon Matta-Clark as an alternative art space, their aim has been to provide an experimental platform for artists. Meet the Curator
dede

Dede Young is an art historian, curator, educator, and art consultant. She holds a Master of Arts in art history from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Kansas.

 

As a curator of modern and contemporary art, Young has overseen more than 100 museum exhibitions, including

Andy Goldsworthy: Three Cairns; Ursula Von Rydingsvard: On an Epic Scale; Tobi Kahn: Sky & Water; Behind Your Eye: Doug & Mike Starn; April Gornik: Painting & Drawing; Lesley Dill: Tremendous World; Sharon Louden: Character.
