From the Deck of Mayor Dirksen

Tigard Pirate Flag
I challenge all elected officials in the Portland area to put your best paddle forward  in the 3rd annual Mayor's Challenge Paddle Race on the Tualatin River. Arrr, here's yer chance to defend yer city's honor!

It is my intention that this year my goal of defeating all comers, will not be denied!  I'm hopeful that my victory will lead to re-naming the Tualatin the "Tigard River"!

So those of you who (by questionable methods) managed to beat me across the finish line last year- be forewarned!  And as for the rest of ye
landlubbers, while I can understand yer trepidation in facin' thCaptain Craige superior navigational skills and physical prowess of those of us who left ye in our wake, here's yer chance to restore yer tarnished reputation.

And 'lest we forget the newly-electeds (hello Mayor Hoffman)~ here's yer chance to gain some... shall we say, river "cred?"

Grab yer paddles and accept me challenge!
