Paralyzed NuStepper Embarks on Race Across America
Kristina Ripatti
You may have met her during our 2007 Annual Gala in Denver or at one of the APTA conferences.  We're proud to share with you an amazing feat about to be understaken by a true hero.  NuStep spokesperson, former APTA presenter and Los Angeles Police Department veteran Kristina Ripatti has already traveled an amazing road to recovery after multiple gunshot wounds left her paralyzed in 2006. But her latest endeavor may be one of her biggest challenges yet.

Beginning June 12, Kristina will captain a team of cyclists who will participate in the Race Across America, a coast-to-coast bicycle race from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD.
The team must complete the entire journey in just nine days, but Kristina's remarkable determination to overcome adversity may give her a unique advantage over the competition. Read more about Kristina's recovery at NuStep.com.

The Foundation thanks NuStep, our gala Producer Sponsor, who has generously supported the Foundation as a Partner in Research and is also sponsoring the 2010 Gala Poll.
