Greetings!

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over. It's been a great one, though, for the Foundation. Earlier this month I attended a retreat for participants in the CORRT program. This NIH training grant uses experienced clinicians and researchers to assist junior faculty researchers as they launch their careers. I was pleased to see so many past Foundation scholarship and grant recipients participating at every level of this remarkable training program. This month our researcher profile features several former Foundation grant recipients participating in the CORRT program. I think you'll agree that CORRT is bringing generations of Foundation-funded researchers together in a unique way. This month we celebrated a successful English Channel relay team crossing with Stanley Paris on the 6th as well as the success of the University of St. Augustine relay team on August 14th. We also bid farewell to our summer intern, Marquette student MaryEllen Petrie. She was a great addition to our team and she will be missed. I invite you to read our statement about the change in the Foundation bylaws, beginning January 1, 2010. The Foundation has an outstanding tradition of supporting physical therapy and refreshing the bylaws helps us continue to serve you by funding emerging researchers and outstanding research that advances the practice of physical therapy. Thanks for helping to make this a great summer!

Students hope to raise $190,000 through the Miami - Marquette Challenge, which will end May 5, 2010. Program Directors and faculty are urged to speak with their students about the importance of funding physical therapy research and getting involved in the Challenge.
