Greetings!
I was so pleased to see so many people turn up to the networking event at Lexdon Woods and the launch of the Business Woman's Network Get Naked Calendar in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
I am delighted to report that so far over 380 calendars have been sold and thus far we have raised over £3,960. On behalf of all the ladies who got naked or got involved... my heartfelt thanks for your support.
Get Naked Calendar - Get yours today!

If you were unable to get to the launch event but would still like to support this worthwhile cause I have a limited number of calendars available. Priced at just £10 (or more if you wish) with ALL the money going to Farleigh Hospice.

 BWN calendar

You may recall that the calendar was part of the £50 challenge undertaken by 50 Essex based businesses, which basically saw Farleigh Hospice give each business £50 to turn into as much money as possible. The closing date is the 7th of September, and whilst the calendars will be available after this date, all orders taken by that date can be added to our challenge total.

Email me today to reserve your copy.

Disabled British Open - Golf Championship

BDO logo

One of my suppliers recently had the opportunity to play golf in the media day of the Disabled British Open.

So impressed was he with the organisation of the event and the skill levels of the players that he wanted to raise the profile of the event and hence asked me to include this article in the newsletter.

In particular he played a round with with Tony Lloyd who wants to raise his number of followers on Twitter and help raise the profile of the sport. So come on tweeps - give him a follow @shortarmgolfer.

For more information about the Disabled British Open which takes place on August 20-21 at East Sussex National Golf Course, visit the Disabled British Open website.

Paternity Leave for Fathers

Employers are reminded that new rights apply to parents of children due to be born, or those notified that they have been matched with a child for adoption, on or after 3 April 2011.

The Additional Paternity Leave Regulations 2010 give new fathers the right to take additional paternity leave during the period which begins 20 weeks after the child's date of birth and ends 12 months after this date if the mother chooses to return to work with maternity leave outstanding and the father has the main responsibility for caring for the child. Some of the father's leave may be paid if it is taken during the mother's 39-week maternity pay period. The period of leave must be continuous; the minimum allowed is two weeks and the maximum 26 weeks.
The changes also apply to spouses, partners and civil partners of a child's mother or of an adoptive parent who has elected to take adoption leave. Read more ...
