Featured Charity | |

Farleigh Hospice is a registered charity providing hospice care to people aged 18 and over in Mid Essex. Caring for the lives of individuals who have been touched by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses is at the heart of our philosophy. At any one time Farleigh Hospice is providing care, totally free of charge, to around 1,100 local people affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Care and support services are extended to carers and family members, including children. To fund this care, the charity relies on people fundraising, leaving gifts in their Wills, making donations and supporting their 9 charity shops. Charity no. 284670. Greetings!
This month, with the exception of one important article on the new Police contact number, I have dedicated this newsletter to the launch of the Get Naked Calendar, organised by the Business Woman's Network in support of Farleigh Hospice.
This issue also includes your personal invitation to come along to the launch and is also why you may notice that this issue has been published one week earlier than usual. There's also a bit of background on the photo shoot.
My thanks go to all the ladies who 'got naked' on the day and those who supported the event through their time, effort and sponsorship. Without you all these things just do not happen!
It therefore seemed appropriate to repeat the 'Featured Charity' on Farleigh Hospice that first appeared in November 2009.
Please come and support us on the 7th. I hope to see you there - it's going to be fun! |

| Get Naked Calendar - The background... | | |
On Monday June 21 around 30 women, all of whom are members of the Business Woman's Network, gathered at Layer Marney Towers for a rather unusual photo shoot. Inspired by the original Calendar Girls, and organised by the BWN as part of the Farleigh Hospice £50 challenge, we all got naked for a soon-to-be-launched calendar in aid of Farleigh Hospice.
The £50 challenge was issued to 50 Essex based businesses, which basically saw Farleigh Hospice give each business £50 to turn into as much money as possible. Here's a few images from the day of the photo shoot, courtesy of East Anglian Daily Times.
