Greetings!
I am delighted to announce the launch of the new Accessibility Business Mark. This is an exciting new initiative from SMP Consultancy, allowing businesses who comply with the Disability Discrimination Act to become recognised for doing so, and upon accreditation to proudly display that fact.
It is my intention to keep you fully up to date on the DDA, what it means to you and your business and of course the progression of the Mark!
Accessibility Accreditation
SMP AA Business MarkAnd here it is - the first Business Mark of it's kind in the UK.
So be one of the first UK businesses to be awarded the accreditation and thereby earn the right to display the Mark at your business premises, on your business stationery and on your website.
It is my firm intention that the Mark will become a nationally recognised symbol to demonstrate your welcoming nature to people with disabilities and your compliance with current legislation.
If you want to know about the accreditation, how it works and to register your interest, please click here.
Mystery Shopping
Mystery Shopper We are actively looking for people to sign-up as mystery shoppers to help regulate the application of the Business Mark.
If you've got a bit of spare time and would like to earn a bit of spare money, and help the local community why not sign up today.
It's quick and easy to register your interest and subject to regulatory vetting we will be pleased to have you on board.
In the next Issue...
Look out for a more detailed explanation of the Accreditation process and the benefits it brings to you and your business.
Future Topics
If there is a particular topic or subject that you would like to see in this newsletter, please email me and let me know and I'll do my best to include it in future.
And Finally ...
If you want to know more about the world of disability from the disabled persons perspective there are some cracking websites around. The BBC offers BBC Ouch! and the contributors often have a terrific sense of humour - see this article on wedding invitations, and also this quite topical one about the recent snow and how it affects the non-disabled... Both articles are well worth a quick read over a cup of tea.
