Greetings!

With the end of school coming up  and the beginning of summer days upon us, we look forward to seeing youth making the most out of their vacation days, empowering each other to continue doing good in their homes and communities. One of the featuring articles in this newsletter is an example of just that, with hundreds of youth in Florida coming together to be "Agents of Change." In addition, we congratulate three of our affiliates in Africa for the steps they have been making together in order to foster the mission of Ignitus Worldwide.

Read on, and enjoy!

300 Students in Broward County, FL to become Agents of Change!

Schools in Broward County are doing big things to promote youth leadership and crime prevention! About 300 students from eight middle schools came together at Broward College this past Friday for the first annual Agents of Change Summit.

Hosted in a partnership among the Broward County Youth Anti-Violence Coalition, the School Board of Broward County, and several organizations, including Ignitus Worldwide, this summit was just the beginning of a county-wide effort to empower youth and reduce teen violence. The Coral Springs Tribune has published an article about the entire summit, so check it out here!

Be sure to keep in touch with us on our Facebook page, where we'll have updates about the summit and how everything went. Congratulations to all the youth who took advantage of this opportunity!

Taking Steps Together: Affiliate Directors in Eastern and Central Africa Hold Successful Meeting in Burundi

The transition from YCWA to Ignitus Worldwide came about in part to foster unity among our international affiliates and move forward as a united front to create young leaders around the world and foster peace building and civic engagement. A prime example of the unity we aim to achieve took place this past April 20th, at a meeting between the directors of Ignitus in Tanzania, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
